‘All my Heart’

How can it be; when I couldn’t care less You came to care for me.
How can it be, You came to care for me.
I didn’t know; despite my loveless life You love me so.
I didn’t know, how you love me so.

With all my heart, all my soul, all my mind, all my strength,
I will love you. I will love you. x2

Let me not be; half hearted to the God who loves me.
Father I know Your mercy overflows.
Father so kind; sent Your Son to a cross that should have been mine.
I will not withhold all the love I owe.

Like a wind that leaves me gasping,
A flood of light that causes fear to flee.
I am exposed, forgiven, asking,
How can You love me?

A love not blind; knowing every thought, knowing my mind.
Still loving me, this is love indeed.
You have arranged, my worthless life for Jesus’ exchanged.
He bore my sin, that I may live with Him.

Background

Jesus says in Mark 12:30, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.” Its a response that can only come when I’ve started to grasp how much I am loved by God myself.
