‘Insurance Man’
My insurance man is a real nice guy,
He said, “You plan for your life, you should plan for when you die.”
He said, “I pay my money weekly to my policy
And when I’m dead it’ll pay to bury me.”
Then he turned to me, and he looked me in the eyes,
“What have you got planned on your demise?”I said, “There’ll be no fire and there’ll be no grave,
I’m gonna see the face of the one who came to save.
I’m gonna be with Jesus, ’cause that’s where I want to be, do you see?
There’ll be no sorrow and there’ll be no tears,
I know the King of Heaven, I have nothing to fear.
I’m gonna be with Jesus, ’cause He’s got a place for me.”I know a girl with no next of kin,
Who’s brother left his body to medicine.
Her father in the forces, was buried at sea.
She wants to be a ‘Gro-bag’ for ecology!
Then she turned to me, and she looked me in the eyes,
“What have you got planned on your demise?”I said, “There’ll be no fire and there’ll be no grave,
I’m gonna see the face of the one who came to save.
I’m gonna be with Jesus, ’cause that’s where I want to be, do you see?
There’ll be no sorrow and there’ll be no tears,
I know the King of Heaven, I have nothing to fear.
I’m gonna be with Jesus, ’cause He’s got a place for me.”I think you’ve been a real good crowd,
And I hope we didn’t play too loud.
There’s just one thing that I’d like to say:
Have you got any plans beyond your dying day?
Now I turn to you, and I look you in the eyes,
What have you got planned on your demise? Will there be no fire, will there be no grave?
Are you gonna see the face of the one who came to save?
Are you gonna be with Jesus, is that where you want to be?
… do you see?
Will there be no sorrow will there be no tears?
Do you know the King of Heaven, have you nothing to fear?
Are you gonna be with Jesus, has He got a place for thee?Composer: Martin DayLyricist: Martin Day
